In this role, you will be accountable for improving our plant reliability through the enhancement and implementation of reliability systems and procedures.
You will use your expertise to:Craft and implement refinery programs like criticality assessments, asset strategies and plant maintenance programs that support our 5-year reliability plan
Build strong positive relationships with diverse groups through day-to-day reliability plant support with a continuous focus on safe, reliable and efficient operation
Monitor mechanical equipment as well as safety relief valves to analyze challenge assumptions with up time and average time between failure and performance
Participate in root cause investigations and problem solving sessions to fix process issues and analyze trends in equipment performance to ensure integrity
Manage the development of asset reliability scope for outages and major turnarounds
Support turnaround events from a technical perspective and create / implement preventative maintenance programs
Provide recommendations to capital improvement projects to ensure reliability and maintainability

Must-haves (minimum requirements):Three or more years of mechanical experience with your Professional Engineering designation or working towards your designation
Refinery or petrochemical plant engineering experience is preferred
A Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education will be considered
A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:Proven analytical skills including analyzing SAP data, conducting root cause assessment and drawing and presenting conclusions and recommendations
Familiarity with the refining industry codes and standards (e.g. API 510)
You are a go-getter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
You possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal) which allow you to collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
This position has been identified as safety sensitive
You have an ability to manage multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic, collaborative work environment
