Role synopsis
Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and maintenance of the day to day activities of the workshop (mobile equipment) and fixed equipment of ORTAFS. To manage quality of repairs, implementation of HSSE standards, implementation of Air BP regulations and performance management of maintenance staff and contractors.
Key accountabilities
Assist the Workshop team and responsible for fixed facility maintenance including Rail Siding.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for mobile and fixed assets including Rail Siding.
Ensure sourcing of approved competent service providers to perform repairs.
Ensure all relevant maintenance training of staff and implementation of relevant Air BP regulations and standards.
Ensure recording of observations and findings during diagnostics run and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary.
Ensure that warranties are properly followed up, monitored and documented.
Plan and organize preventative maintenance system PMS and delegate specific tasks to section mechanics.
Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/ special job or for stock replenishment.
Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair job.
Develop and maintain maintenance budget.
Follow up repair orders to improve equipment availability.
In collaboration with operations team, ensure effective and safe management of projects on site.
Develop Management of Change and Risk Assessments for maintenance changes on site.
Forge proficient relationships with Air BP Engineering team to ensure continuous improvement.
On time reporting on maintenance and attendance of relevant maintenance meetings
Responsible for implementing HSSE standards and timeous close out of audit findings.
Essential Education
Fitter Diploma or Equivalent Technical qualification.
Good mechanical knowledge
At least 5 years relevant experience in Oil/ Petro–chemical industry.
Knowledge of the Aviation business would be an advantage.
