The Operations Supervisor is accountable for daily management of on-shift operations to ensure delivery of safe, compliant and reliable operations. They track, manage, and report progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics of the team and plant. They manage operator performance and development along with the department manager. They also manage department resource planning and lead the team in identifying Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities to driver performance and improve efficiency. This developmental role is part of a future leader rotational program and will gain experience as a supervisor in Process, Packaging, and Shipping departments. Additionally, the role will work a 12-hour rotating schedule, with the incumbent being fully immersed in the plant environment. Accountable to identify and create the required area organization that meets the goals of the department, and ultimately, the business needs of the site. Directs the operation of the area through a team of hourly individuals. Safety & Operational RiskRecognizes need to escalate risk decisions as necessary. Accomplishes work in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Possesses a working knowledge, and ensures team understanding and compliance of:Executing activities in a safe and compliant manner consistent with site and corporate HSSE policy and OMS, including Management of Change, Process Safety Management standards, personal safety, mechanical integrity, health, environment and energy isolation. Control of Work champion and approver of some high-risk work. Assessing and managing risk and apply principles consistently. Identifying opportunities to control, mitigate, and eliminate risks. Delivery of Operational Excellence within routine operation as well as responses to an emergency. Shares lessons learned from internal and external incidents & near misses. Applies lessons learned to the plant operation. Recognizes and leads Process Safety improvement efforts and strives for Inherently Safer designs and operations. Contributes to the KPIâ€™s, including:HSSE (Near Misses, SOC, etc) Quality (Right First Time, Quality Observation Conversations, NCMR, etc) Schedule Adherence Metrics (Pack & Blend FSA, OEE) Customer Service Metrics (In-full On-time, Customer Complaints) Cost (Cost per liter, working capital, cost savings) Essential Education Minimum of a Bachelorâ€™s Degree required; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other STEM degree highly preferred/ Essential experience and job requirements 2 â€“ 5 yearsâ€™ relevant experience in manufacturing required. Must have ability to remain at the Baton Rouge Lubricants plant for 3 years to complete the rotational program, with ability to move to another site/plant after completion of the program. Must have superior leadership skills and associated behavioral attributes. Must have ability to drive a Continuous Quality Improvement environment and Best-In-Class manufacturing practices. Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project). Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
